Excellent remarks by Mr Babur Chughtai. Since this is supposed to be a research oriented forum, it is advisable that the references should be more than just local newspapers. I read the other paper on PAKGLOC and was very happy to find it encouraging, but on this issue, the paper clearly lacks depth.

Interesting this study refers to the series of articles written by Amir Mateen and published by The News. Sadly, these are reports designed not to understand or solve the problem but to indirectly promote the views of a handful of fugitives running a campaign of terror inside the Balochistan province from foreign locations.

The reason these reports, which mislead and twist facts, appear in The News is not because the paper has an anti-Pakistan policy but because it has Imran Aslam, a senior executive at Jang Group in charge of Geo News. He is a former fugitive who joined Soviet-backed terrorist groups fighting Pakistani State and Pakistan Army in Balochistan during the 1970s. He belongs to the same class as Najam Sethi, another former fugitive who killed Pakistanis while fighting on the side of Soviet and Indian-supported rebels in Balochistan during the same period. In the presence of Imran Aslam, it is no surprise that Najam Sethi and his wife Jugnu Mohsin have been given prime time slots on Geo News to promote views that favor one or two foreign governments and are contrary to Pakistan's policy and interests. As Imran Aslam, Najam Sethi and Jugnu Mohsin float their sugar-coated anti-Pakistan policy line, the pages of The News are open to terrorists belonging to terror groups like Balochistan Liberation Army and others to give interviews and be published as if they were legitimate politicians. This is the context that brings over two dozen reports in The News on Balochistan written by Amir Mateen. This assignment is poisoned at source.
