Comments:

  • Security: The overall security situation shows deterioration as compared to last week mainly due to KPK. Baluchistan and KPK remained disturbed because of clashes between security forces and militants, target killings and Sectarian conflicts. The issue of killings in Karachi seems emerging again. Previously the phenomenon of killings was attributed to land grabbing mafia and armed wings of political parties.
  • Governance: The issue of governance previously having impact on economy has now shifted to direct effects on life of citizens. The governance issue in Punjab has cost more than hundred lives.
  • Suggestion: Security situation in Balochistan and Karachi need special handling. The political solutions must come forward before the casualty figures increase. However, permanent solution lies in finishing off the mafias operating behind scene and improving national cohesion through negotiations with all stakeholders. The government must realize importance of governance in practical manifestation of running the government as now it has started showing impact on life of citizens.
