4.    Governance Alerts

a.    IT Ministry:

·         HRCP has expressed deep concern over the attempt by the IT Ministry to further restrict freedom of expression, creativity and peaceful thought on the Internet by projecting an extensive filtering system that will if implemented allow authorities to block up to 50 million undesirable URLs at the national level. (Daily Times)

b.    Corruption:

·         Government withdrew millions from Intelligence Bureau’s account; PPP allegedly used money to push political agenda in Punjab; had also done the same in 1989. (The Express Tribune)

·         The federal government not only inducted more than 100 officials in the FIA on contract basis but also regularized 17 officers of Grade-17 and 18 in the agency in sheer violation of the rules and regulations, reports. (Nation)
